Renewable energy systems are unpredictable by nature. Because of the rapid growth of renewable energy in Europe, national grids are under heavy stress. Some days there is too much electricity generated by renewable energy systems. Others there is not enough. Every day national grid operators need to play with complex systems to balance the grid and keep it under control and avoid black-outs. By storing or releasing energy when needed, BESS battery energy storage systems help the grid maintain balance and are therefore paid for such a service.
Liberatió manages BESS projects for its group of investors, connecting BESS to the grid and enjoying high revenues from national grid operators.
For solar clients, most companies rely on electricity from the power grid to supplement their solar-generated power. However, energy storage or battery storage units can be installed on-site to offer businesses a means to store and discharge electricity at specific times, operate independently from the grid and offer backup power when needed.

We work with the finest Lithium-Ion LFP technology for high value added grid services.
We also plan to use Sodium-Ion technology, that ensure high performance with a much better footprint since sodium is over 1000 times more abundant than lithium - sodium is more than 2% of the world’s crust.
Sodium-ion batteries have already been commercialised in e-bikes and energy storage. They have the advantages of high-energy density, fast-charging capability, excellent thermal stability, great low-temperature performance and high-integration efficiency, among others.
The energy density of a sodium-ion battery cell can achieve up to 160Wh/kg, and the battery can charge in 15 minutes to 80% SOC at room temperature. Moreover, in a low-temperature environment of -20°C, the sodium-ion battery has a capacity retention rate of more than 90%, and its system integration efficiency can reach more than 80%.
